Singer Joss Stone has revealed that she turned down an offer to pose for Playboy magazine.
The 22-year-old star recently released her fourth album, Colour Me Free, and revealed that she was offered the chance to pose for Hugh Hefner’s US magazine.
She told UK newspaper The Times: “They said, ‘It’ll be really classy, tasteful. No nudity on the cover, but it would have to be topless on the inside’.
“I was like, ‘Thank you very much, but no’. I can’t do that, man. My boobs are for me and whoever else I choose. I’m too shy!”
Stone clashed with label EMI over her latest album and it hasn’t received the promotion that her previous albums have. However, she said she is happy not to be selling millions.
She said: “I think I know now that I’m not destined for a massive, massive career. If I wanted to be selling millions upon millions, as I was before, I would be happy to be signed to a major label, to sing the songs they wanted me to sing, to have a big-time manager.
“And I’d be happy to not know anything. But I’m not happy like that. So I’d rather just sell a couple of thousand and be able to tour. I never make money off my records anyway.”
