Gordon Ramsay’s pilgrimage to India

Gordon Ramsay's pilgrimage to IndiaGordon Ramsay has completed his pilgrimage to India for his TV show Gordon’s Great Escape.

The 44-year-old star’s TV show will be shown in the UK next year on TV network Channel 4 during its India Season.

Ramsay’s recent trip to India was his first to the country, and the self-confessed curry fan experienced the country’s culinary traditions first hand.

He started off his trip from north India and travelled off the tourist track to the north-east before finishing the adventure by conquering his greatest fear - eating vegetarian food.

The show has been picked up around the world and will air on TVNZ in New Zealand, Canwest in Canada, Globosat in Brazil, Viasat in Hungary and SBS in Belgium.

There has also been interest from other broadcasters across the world and DVD publisher IMC Vision has taken up the DVD rights in the UK.

Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed said that cookery appeared to be a very developed and refined art in Sanskrit literature.
